Sunday..Sunday, Sunday!

Sunday's have a bit of a funny schedule with church from 11-2.  It means a late breakfast, quick snack and then big meal as soon as we get home from church.   Then we will often just have a little snack in the evening.

This last Sunday the kids all wanted some hot chocolate.
So something I saw-- the photoaday theme-- was Ryder drinking (or playing) with his hot chocolate.

Alex was showing me how she drinks to ensure she doesn't get a chocolate mustache

yep open as big as she can.  Sunday's are a good day.

Cold and Cookies

It is cold!!  Temperatures in the freezing range cold and this is Southern California!  Not liking it much. But it was a wonderful Sunday with amazing lessons.

The picture for the day was "circle"

And you know they say a watched pot never boils... well this one started boiling right after I took this picture- so maybe it just wants it's picture taken.

And what a better way to end a cold day with warm cookies dunked in milk.

T is For...

Toastee Tarts!  And yes these did start a whole discussion as to why they are called this and not Pop Tarts.  And yes Alex did declare them as her favorite and so much better than Pop Tarts asking that every time I go to the store to get these.   Well done store brand generic food.

The above was my photoaday for "something that begins with T"

And here is a pretty sunset straight out of my iPhone camera

Double Over Time

Monday- it can be such a cursed word.  And today, a Monday- the first day back to school after Christmas break was trying to be very Monday-ish.

It began with someone (cough- me) putting dish soap in the dishwasher.
Then I almost forgot to pack Lucas snack, almost forgot the drink in Alex's snack and we left 15 minutes late.

But thankfully the day got better.

Donuts helped make it better
I think he totally enjoyed his donut-- especially the frosting
So did this cute guy asking me to take his picture (more on my main blog tomorrow)

And we ended the day by watching Eric's basketball team advance to the finals in his basketball league with a last second win in double overtime!!  Though the kids-- well they didn't watch much

And today's photo a day was "street"

Nourishment

I began the day by telling the kids there was no food in the fridge.

"What?!?" they said with concern hurrying to the kitchen.
"April fools!"

And yes, I did open up a can of worms with that one.

Most of the day was filled with wonderful nourishment for the soul as we watched General Conference.

So that night for dinner we decided we needed some more good nourishment for our bodies. That my friends is a burger with meat, pastrami, cheese, avocado, lettuce tomato and an over-easy egg. Oh yea good.

Day 32: It Was Needed

Eric has been out of town all week. It hasn't been too bad but we will definitely be very glad when he is back. We usually start- or I should say- Eric usually starts the dishwasher before we go to bed. Which was apparent when I forgot to start it, and then thought I started it but didn't actually two days in a row.

So since we had to wash the dishes in the afternoon and then fill up the dishwasher before dinner- the last thing I wanted was more dishes.

Yep, sometimes it is just necessary. And I loved every bite.

Day 26: Curls to Stay

Ryder and I ran some errands- while we were checking out the lady saw the back of Ryder- so this view
and she said she and her several times- sorry lady he is a boy, curls and all.

And those curls are going to stay, I love love them!

And some days- cereal for breakfast is really just the perfect thing
And since the weather was beautiful we went outside. Ryder wanted to try and ride his sister's scooter- but he already knows helmets are required

even if it is your sister's princess helmetand if it gets taken away-well you can see the results

See yummy

Day 13: Lazy days, beds and Icecream

No school today- yes already after just going back from Christmas break.

But we enjoy the lazy, easy morning. Lot's of laundry for me. Some crafts for the kids.

Oh and yes there was this...but you will have to go read my main blog on Monday to learn more about that.

And we ended the night with dinner out and icecream.

He eat's his in a bowl.
She eat's hers in a cone-
which, yes she ate the cone before the ice cream. And was quite proud of herself for doing so. But she would not do this with a drumstick. In fact she does just the opposite eating just the icecream, sticking her finger way deep into the waffle cone to get out the last bits of icecream only to throw the waffle cone away. She isn't allowed to eat drumsticks anymore. So far cones are safe-ish.

Monday Mugs: Dinner

Okay, I am finally back here. Yes, I missed a Fix it For me Wednesday last week... last week was a beyond crazy busy week and well today is Eric's birthdays and my in-laws are here visiting so this week is just as busy.

But I did want to participate in today's Monday Mugs-whose theme this week is "dinner" as last night, we began celebrating Eric's birthday with a big family dinner (22 people)

Eric likes food, especially meat so we made sure we had a feast he would like

Some of the spread
Dinner consisted of three different types of meat-including Ribs, fruit platter, rolls, twice baked potatoes and a green salad... and of course a cake, but you have to head over to my main blog to see the cake I made for Eric.

If you want to see more great dinner pictures, head over to Oswald Cuties for Monday Mugs.

Day 337-Peas

Ryder's favorite food seems to be bananas...
well and his bib of course.
Which he tries to eat by pulling it up over his face every time I feed him.
Which results in food all over his face.
Today's food, peas.
