The Sun!!

Finally-- finally the weather started being as it should in SoCal during the winter and so we celebrated by drawing with chalk outside.

And today's picture was "two things"

These eyes are two things that melt my heart a little everyday.

Ordinary Day

It was just a regular ordinary day-- which fit quite nicely with the photo of the day which was "something ordinary"

For me driving my kids around town is pretty ordinary.
And Ryder smiling and being happy is thankfully pretty ordinary.   Though his new way he smiles when I ask him to smile for pictures isn't so ordinary.

Basketball

Still cold here and still being such a wimp about it.

Today's picture was yellow- and I see these yellow things everyday.

This was on my way in for kindergarten pick-up; afternoon pickup would never look so empty.

And the day ended with us watching the championship game for Eric's basketball team... it was not a pretty game; but it seems unfair to me that someone who played professionally in China is now playing on a city league- just saying-- and no I didn't take any pictures; was too busy watching my crazy kids not watch the game.

Cold and Cookies

It is cold!!  Temperatures in the freezing range cold and this is Southern California!  Not liking it much. But it was a wonderful Sunday with amazing lessons.

The picture for the day was "circle"

And you know they say a watched pot never boils... well this one started boiling right after I took this picture- so maybe it just wants it's picture taken.

And what a better way to end a cold day with warm cookies dunked in milk.

Party X2

Sometimes when Saturday roles around I would love a day just to sit around.

This was not one of those Saturday's.

We began by cleaning the church.

Followed by some outside spray painting by me-while the kids played soccer with Eric
Picture taken by Eric
And well I shouldn't have beens surprised that I got spray paint on my hand when I held one of the sticks while trying to spray paint the side.
This was my photoaday which was "surprise"

And then it was birthday party time-- Alex had two birthday parties to attend.

First a Mermaid party

Dressed up girly at the party

Then that evening a party at Pump it up
Alex battling it out with a friend
So definitely didn't get to sit around but it was a good day.  Maybe next Saturday I can sit.... oh wait Alex has another party to attend next week.  I need a nap.

Yep We Went Again

Friday was Ryder's first story time at the library-- it was also a day off of school for my older two.  But they were more than happy to go to a friend's house for a play date.

Story time not only is stories, but songs and poems and play time at the end.  Ryder loves it.  His favorite song is definitely "Open, shut them"

Then it was off to the store to buy presents for the 3 birthday parties Alex was invited to in the next two weeks.

While we were shopping, Eric texted me saying what if he finished up work early and we went to Knotts.  The fact that it was noon and only 45 at our house made me question, but when I learned it was 10 degree warmer at Knotts said why not.

And we went for the 3rd time this month.  And let me tell you- a Friday where most are in school, that is a bit chilly is totally the day to go!  We pretty much walked onto every single ride.

Our traditional picture-this time shot in daylight hours
I don't think Ryder is smiling in this shot yet this year!
When we were riding the big train Alex noticed the "robber" standing outside of it before we started and started talking to him.  He was asking her who her boyfriends were and she was all- "No! These are my brothers" and just bantered back and forth.  Right before the train left he said he had something for each of them and gave each kid a bullet casing.  They love them!

Eric and I even took turns taking the kids on rides while we went on the big coasters since the lines were so short.

And today's #photoaday picture was "water" so while Ryder and I rode on the little train in camp Snoopy (where shot from above came from)  I took my water picture

It was a great way to spend our afternoon

Reminders

Do you know how I stay organized?

I set reminders in my phone for everything.  And when I saw yesterday's picture was 1 o'clock I knew I had better set a reminder or I would never successfully get the picture.

So I set this reminder

You see that little red box next to it?  That means I was late.

Yep, my reminder went off 5 minutes before so I would be ready and somewhere in that five minutes I forgot.

So I took a screen shot of my reminders for my photoaday.

And everyone loves school pickup right?

It is a good thing, especially when our Thursday is a Friday since there is no school on Friday.

And since there is no school Friday, I let the kids keep up the fort they made.
